After the total disintegration (hexagram 23) and the absolute void, a Yang line reappears at the very bottom. It is the winter solstice: in the heart of the longest night, light is reborn. The ascending movement has resumed. This new energy is still weak and nascent; it must be nurtured and protected. Do not fear the return of old friends or former good habits.
"Thunder within the earth: the image of the return. Thus the ancient kings closed the passes at the time of the solstice. Merchants and strangers did not circulate."
The new energy requires calm to consolidate. Do not squander this tremor of life in noisy or premature actions. Renewal occurs in the silence of interiority.
